Close view of memorial tablet (or stele) to poet William Collins (1721-59) mounted on a stone pillar in the north aisel of the cathedral. Sculpted in a roundel is the seated figure of the poet reading the New Testament. Print with inscription "European Magazine. The Monument erected to the Memory of Willm. Collins, in Chichester Cathedral. Engraved from an original drawg. by W. Holt. Published by J. Sewell, Cornhill, Aug. 1 1796".
