Full descriptionJames Stoner with a bull, probably West Grinstead. James Stoner holds a staff as he stands at the head of a bull in front of farm buildings, possibly Park or Floodgates Farm, Floodgate near Knepp Castle. He has a beard and moustache, and is wearing a hat, jacket and waistcoat, working trousers and long boots. James Stoner was born in Upper Beeding in 1844 and in 1881 was living in West Grinstead. Scanned from an original photograph lent by Jill Langridge, great-grand-daughter of James Stoner.
